The Women's volleyball team continues to win after two league wins at home against Cal Poly and Santa Barbara. It started with their five set win against Santa Barbara Friday. Once again the All-American Naomi Washington helped lead the team to the win with seven kills down the stretch. This was a really back and forth match. Long Beach State started by winning the first two sets but UC Santa Barbara answered back by winning the next two. It sent the match to a final set. In the final set the 49ers took an early lead and never let up and finally won the match. Junior Ashley Lee put in a great performance with 50 assits and 15 digs.
The following day the 49ers had another home game but this one was easier. The 49ers won this game in three quick sets. Once again Washington and Lee enjoyed good games along with Caitlin Ledoux. Though they were outplayed some sets the 49ers still were able to win.
After these two home wins, Long Beach State will take their undefeated Big West record on the road for three matches. The 49ers head north to take on UC Davis and Pacific starting on Oct. 9, and then travel to UC Irvine to take on the Anteaters.
